• The company

Creative Nano is a research-intensive and commercialization company providing technological solutions in the field of materials’ nanoscience and nanotechnology. Cnano is based in the industrial area of western Athens (Municipality of Peristeri) in Greece. Cnano, has long experience in upscaling promising concepts that have been already evaluated in the lab, thus bringing technologies from TRL 4 to TRL 7 (Technology Readiness Level, https://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/ref/h2020/wp/2014_2015/annexes/h2020-wp1415-annex-g-trl_en.pdf ). Cnano has acquired vast experience in the field of surface treatment utilizing advanced methods such as pulse plating electrodeposition, development and use of nano-particle dispersions in various media as well as new materials synthesis, including nanoparticles, new polymers and composite materials.

  • Infrastructure

During the project implementation Cnano will utilize its infrastructure related to the surface finishing process. Cnano has plating equipment that cover a wide range of applications, spanning from bench-scale set ups (e.g. up to 3 lt volume) up to an advance electroplating line of 120lt effective volume. The company may apply a series of coating types (e.g. nickel and nickel based alloys, zinc and copper plating, nano-composite coatings and precious metals). Its plating equipment consists of direct current rectifiers and high sophisticated pulse plating rectifiers and electrochemical workstations.

Moreover, Cnano owns a fully equipped laboratory with state of the art equipment allowing the team to design and implement challenging characterization techniques that includes:

ATR-FTIR: This characterization procedure is performed to evaluate the quality (by peak identification) and the quantity (by peak size) of a liquid, solid or gas compound

UV-Vis spectrophotometer: Ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy refers to absorption spectroscopy of the ultraviolet and the full, adjacent visible spectral regions.

Optical Microscope: Ιdentification of the surface topography of a sample at the micron scale

DLS – ZETA POTENTIAL: Evaluation of the particle size and the ζ potential of a liquid particle suspension.

TG-DTA: Thermal analysis in which the mass of a sample is measured over time as the temperature changes to estimate the thermal resilience of a solid material

Photocatalysis workstation: Ultraviolet and solar simulator for the assessment of the photocatalytic behaviour
